Games

This is where I write reviews for games that I play and enjoy.

My favourite genres are quite mixed; I like Action, Adventure, Strategy, RPG, and occasional Casual and Puzzle games. Gaming has been a staple of my life since childhood, and while I can't spend all day playing anymore I still love to dive into a well-crafted experience every once in a while.

Explore my neat little collection and feel free to be inspired by any of these entries to check the game out yourself.

Factorio

Factorio is an insanely addicting factory simulator where a lone astronaut (or group of astronauts!) are stranded on a hostile planet and have to lead its industrialization in the ultimate goal of constructing and escaping via rocket. Through self-engineered machines, the player(s) have to extract and process resources used for researching more advanced technology, all whilst fighting off an unrelenting horde of biters, spitters, and worms.

The addicting aspect of this experience is how you choose to design your factory. You're given the recipes for drills, transport belts, power poles, steam engines and etc., but it is your duty to make and arrange these machines to compactly produce new materials, while also keeping an eye on your polution output to avoid infuriating the planet's unhappy residents. Tightly designing and constructing the most efficient machines and seeing them link together to create a large horrifying, and at the same time - beautiful, factory is a satisfying process that keeps you wanting to add a little more again and again.

I can't say that Factorio is for everybody, it is a niche for the perfectionists and I am certainly one of them. Factorio scratches my OCD itch like no other game ever has and I've obsessed over it through way too many late nights. But who cares about sleep, the factory must grow.

Payday 2

My rating

5 star rating

Payday 2 is an exceptional action-packed co-op PvE heisting game that has proudly cemented itself as my favourite game ever. The heists are (for the most part) incredible; the scale of the jobs goes anywhere from simple jewelry stores to top-security banks, luxurious penthouses, palatial casinos, and even the f**king White House?? No matter the scale the heists are thrilling to not only complete but replay as well, thanks in no small part to intuitive randomisation every time the level starts.

Payday 2 aces it's gunplay with an arcadey run-and-gun feel, an extensive and diverse arsenal, and a highly customizable attachment system. As well as this, the player can choose between different skills and perks depending on their personal playstyle, making room for a lot of build variety as well as a fun roleplay element. The enemies put up an excellent fight too, with tasers that disorient the player, bulldozers that lead the charge with their massive healthpools, and the incredibly iconic cloakers looming around every corner.

If it wasn't obvious, I love Payday 2. I've sunk more hours than I probably should've into this game and I'm eager to keep going. An absolutely fantastic and irreplaceable addition to any action-enjoyer's library. Now for the love of god fix Payday 3 >:(.
